A. Stein'sche Buchhandlung GmbH, a bookstore in Werl with around 80 employees, has filed for insolvency. Despite this, business operations will continue as usual while a restructuring process and investor search are initiated.
The bookstore, located at Steinerstraße 10, is part of the Media Group Stein, which operates five bookstores in total. Dr. Mike Westkamp from Bielefeld has been appointed as interim insolvency administrator. Employees' salaries are secured for the next three months through insolvency benefits. The administrator will now examine the validity of the insolvency proceedings and the prospects for continuing the business.
This insolvency is not an isolated case within the Stein media holding. Three other subsidiaries of Media Group Stein have also filed for insolvency in recent days, although specific details about these companies are not yet available.
