Advises GARBE Industrial on leasing a logistics property in Lüneburg to Garpa (our website)
In a significant move towards eco-conscious industrial real estate, the garden furniture manufacturer Garpa has leased a sustainable logistics property in Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. The property, developed by Garbe Industrial, covers approximately 20,200 square meters and will be used for storage, assembly, and repair of exclusive garden furniture. Occupancy is set to begin on October 1, 2025.
Located on a 33,000 square meter site in the Gewerbepark Ost industrial park, near the port of Lüneburg, the facilities include a narrow-aisle racking system, 17 loading bridges, two ground-level gates, and parking spaces for 55 cars and five trucks. The property's strategic location offers quick access to major highways, including the B 216, B 209, A 39, Maschener Kreuz interchange, and A 1 and A 7.
The building is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a 1.7-megawatt peak photovoltaic system and air heat pumps, aiming for DGNB Gold certification. While specific sustainable technologies and energy efficiency measures are not detailed, the property is described as a sustainable logistics property, indicating a commitment to environmentally friendly industrial real estate.
Key personnel involved in the Garbe Industrial leasing project include Dr. Karsten Alex, Team Lead Patrick Narr, Dr. Tobias Block, and Malte Meyer, all from the Corporate/Real Estate division in Hamburg. Sebastian Sievers, an Associate in the same division, also contributed to the project.

In light of their commitment to eco-conscious practices, Garpa may consider investing in sustainable finance options to fund their business expansion, such as green bonds or impact investment funds. As the company continues to grow, exploring opportunities in real-estate investing, particularly in industrial properties with a focus on sustainability, could also be a strategic move for Garpa.
