Airport Authority in Nashville appoints crucial management figures
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) has announced a series of strategic promotions within its leadership team, reflecting their commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth at Nashville International Airport (BNA).
One of the key appointments sees **Josh Powell** stepping up from Assistant Vice President to Vice President, Airline and Government Relations. Powell joined MNAA in April 2008 and in his new role, he leads the Airport’s Airline Affairs team and Air Service Development efforts. He acts as a liaison to local businesses, as well as city, county, and state officials on behalf of the Authority.
Another significant promotion goes to **Adam Floyd**, who has been elevated from Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to Executive Vice President and COO. Floyd joined MNAA in 2019 and brings with him 21 years of experience in the United States Coast Guard, where he held leadership roles in law enforcement, intelligence, and search and rescue. Floyd holds degrees in Intelligence Studies from American Military University and a master’s in executive leadership from Liberty University. He is also a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
These leaders bring extensive backgrounds in aviation management, government relations, and military leadership, which MNAA cites as vital to driving the continued growth, expansion, and modernization of BNA and John C. Tune Airport (JWN).
In addition to Powell and Floyd, several other key personnel have been promoted. **Kristy Bork**, formerly Assistant Vice President, Finance, has been promoted to Vice President, Finance at MNAA. Bork oversees the organization's treasury, budget, and accounting operations.

He is working towards his Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) accreditation.

Painter has nearly 20 years of experience across multiple sectors including student housing, multifamily, commercial, medical, industrial, and aviation real estate.
**Chris Saunders** has been promoted to Director of Airline Affairs, marking a significant milestone in a career spanning over 17 years at MNAA. The number of nonstop destinations at BNA has increased from 53 to 114, an all-time record, as a result of the effective leadership of these individuals and the strategic vision of MNAA. These promotions align with MNAA’s strategic vision to support Nashville’s airports through excellence in leadership and innovation.
Investment in business careers is evident as Brandon Painter, with almost 20 years of experience in various real estate sectors, is promoted to Director of Real Estate at MNAA, leading strategic and operational oversight for real estate efforts at BNA, JWN, and the MNAA Properties Corporation (MPC).
