Lapu-Lapu City Allocates P80.7 Million for Infrastructure Projects in 2025

The Lapu-Lapu City Government has set aside a supplemental budget of P80.7 million for infrastructure projects in 2025. This budget, divided between the general fund and the development fund, aims to support various city departments and offices.

Of the total amount, P59,705,513 will come from the general fund, which will be used for personnel, equipment procurement, infrastructure, and operational needs across multiple city offices and departments. These include the Mayor’s Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Urban Poor Office, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).

Meanwhile, the P21 million development fund has been allocated specifically for the improvement of educational and healthcare facilities. P18 million of this amount is earmarked for the transfer, reinstallation, and enhancement of isolation facilities at Lapu-Lapu City College. The remaining P3 million will be used for the installation of slope protection, fencing, and site improvements at the Super Health Center in Barangay Basak.

These allocations were made following requests from the City Engineering Office and were approved under the City’s Supplemental Annual Investment Program No. 3 through Resolution No. 2025-12.

The Lapu-Lapu City College will receive funding for the transfer, reinstallation, and enhancement of its isolation facilities. Meanwhile, the Super Health Center in Barangay Basak will receive funding for site improvements. The implementation of these projects has been prompted by the DPC’s approval and the release of funding.

The P21 million allocation for the projects was made under the City's Supplemental Annual Investment Program No. 3. The projects were approved for funding by the City Development Council Executive Committee. The third supplemental budget for 2025 was signed by Mayor Ma. Cynthia "Cindi" Chan on August 11, 2025, and enacted by the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod on August 7, 2025.

These projects focus on enhancing healthcare facilities and improving essential city infrastructure.
