Limited-Edition Bovensiepen Zagato Grand Tourer Debuts, Boasting Italian Design and BMW Powertrain

Since 2026, the trademark rights for Alpina will be transferred to BMW, but car production will continue at the Buchloe facility. The arms of the Bovensiepen family have unveiled an exclusive project, the Bovensiepen Zagato, which promises to capture the hearts of auto enthusiasts with its unique blend of Italian design and BMW performance.

Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen, long-time owners of Alpina, have faced questions about their future endeavors as BMW takes control of the company's trademark rights. While the duo is already heavily invested in Alpina Classic and the wine trade, the lack of a fresh branding venture has left fans eager for details. The prodigious Zagato label, with its rich history in automotive design, seems to provide the necessary boost for Bovensiepen's new venture.

The Bovensiepen name adorns the rear of the sleek new four-seater coupe, while the more subtle Zagato insignia appears on the side air intakes. The collaboration between the two brands presents a promising start for a new Chapter.

The Bovensiepen Zagato boasts a striking appearance, with a carbon-fiber body that hints at its sporty credentials. The meticulous crafting of each vehicle requires 250 hours of labor, and although the production numbers remain undisclosed, it is rumored that the figure may reach a low three-digit range.

The heart of the Bovensiepen Zagato beats with a BMW engine, in a significantly modified form. With over 600 horsepower on tap, the grand tourer can propel itself from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds, with a top speed surpassing 300 km/h. Paired with a high-performance Akrapovic exhaust system, the vehicle promises an exceptional driving experience.

The front of the Bovensiepen Zagato boasts a uniquely styled grille, complemented by the distinctive "Double Bubble" roofline typically associated with Zagato designs and frameless side windows. While it remains to be seen whether the vehicle will cater more to leisurely driving or track-focused experiences, the opportunity for customization may accommodate a variety of preferences.

First deliveries are expected in 2026, with prices for this bespoke grand tourer expected to outshine previous Alpina offerings, given the high-end materials used in its construction. Offering a captivating fusion of Bavarian engineering and Italian design, the Bovensiepen Zagato is poised to leave a lasting impression on the luxury automotive landscape. ntv.de will provide updates as more information becomes available.
