Looks like the crew at AmCham Romania just got a fresh new face (or a couple). Vlad Boeriu,PARTNER-IN-CHARGE and Tax & Legal guru at Deloitte Romania, has been crowned the President for the upcoming year.

Boeriu's not alone in his leadership journey; he's joined by an ace team of vice-presidents and fellow directors ready to make some serious moves. Stepping up to the plate as vice-presidents, we have Cerasela Baiculescu, Country General Manager at IBM Romania & Moldova, and Gabriela Popescu, Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs Lead for Central Europe at Microsoft. With Luminită Runcan, Senior Advisor to the President, Supervisory Board Chair BTAM, Banca Transilvania taking on the role of Treasurer, the team is shaping up nicely!
Making up the Board of Directors, we see heavy hitters like Nicoleta Forfota (Corporate Bank Head, Citibank), Cornel Cărămizaru (General Manager, Coca-Cola HBC Romania), Claudia Sofianu (Partner, EY Romania), and Elisabeta Moraru (Country Director, Google Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, and Romania). Special shout-outs to Georgiana Cos~~n~~oveanu, Director Governmental Affairs & Policy, Executive Member of Romania Leadership Team, Johnson & Johnson Romania; Ciprian Lăduncă, Managing Partner at LCL Advisory; Daniela Nemoianu, Managing Partner at Nemoianu Attorneys at Law; Ionut Sas, SVP Finance at UiPath; and Nedim Baytorun, CEO at Vodafone Romania.
As Boeriu takes office, he reaffirms AmCham's commitment to promoting the economic priorities of the business community they represent. With AmCham Romania's ambitious goals in mind, expect some major focus on:
- Supporting Romania's integration into the OECD - a game-changer for the country's investment profile and socio-economic development.
- Ratcheting up measures leading to Romania's fiscal-budgetary consolidation, aiming for a brighter financial future.
- Tapping into the EU funding available through the PNRR - crucial for large-scale public investment projects in transport, energy, education, and health infrastructure.
Boeriu stresses the importance of a strong partnership between the public administration and the private sector, keeping our fingers crossed that it'll help navigate the uncertain times ahead. Last but not least, he's keen on beefing up efforts to market Romania as a powerhouse destination for American investments, with the hope of continuing successful initiatives and unveiling fresh projects to strategically position Romania in the current economic and geopolitical climate.
