Anniversary Celebration of the Economic Association: Participation of 100 golfers in the commemorative tournament
In the picturesque town of Harburg, Germany, the Economic Golf Tournament of Southern Hamburg took place on the 18-hole Porsche Nord Course, attracting 100 participants, including 84 tournament players and 16 "trialists." The challenge was met with enthusiasm as 21 teams battled it out in perfect golf weather.
The tournament, which was expertly organised by Uta Rade, the long-standing managing director of the economic association, marked her tenth and final event before her retirement at the beginning of next year. Rade, who started as the head of the business office in August 2001 and was appointed managing director in 2011, ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
The day concluded with an exquisite barbecue in the club restaurant BEAVERS and an award ceremony. The winners of the Economic Golf Tournament of Southern Hamburg were announced, with Ole Kroeger, DEKRA Automobil GmbH Niederlassung Hamburg Süd, taking the top spot on the trial course and receiving two training hours at the Winsener Golf Club, sponsored by WIK Wedemann Immobilien Kontor KG (GmbH&Co.).
The second-place team, comprising Rainer Kalbe from Hartmann Haustechnik GmbH, Beritt and Pascal Henning from Henning Elektrotechnik GmbH, and Sigrun von Loßberg from Oberthür & Partner Rechtsanwälte, were rewarded with tickets for the presidency box of FC. St. Pauli.
The third-place team, including Klaus Michael Albrecht, Freizeit Center Albrecht GmbH & Co. KG, Gabriele Eggers from Hamburger Energienetze GmbH, Dirk Feldbinder from Feldbinder Spezialfahrzeugwerke GmbH, and Arent Bolte from the Haspa, received golf bags with accessories from the Haspa. In a generous gesture, Arent Bolte decided to raffle off his prize further.
The Economic Golf Tournament of Southern Hamburg was held at the Golf Club Green Eagle in Winsen, and all starting places were sold out. The event was more than just a competition; it was a gathering of businesses coming together to network, enjoy golf, and support a good cause.
Rasmus Witt from the company Hinsch & Voelckers KG (GmbH & Co.) donated 1,500 euros per birdie to "steps for children for Namibia," and this donation was topped up by 200 euros by the company Heinrich Weseloh Straßen- und Tiefbau GmbH, totaling 1,700 euros. This generous contribution reflected the spirit of camaraderie and charitable giving that permeated the tournament.
As the tournament directors, Arnold Mergell and Arent Bolte, announced, the Economic Golf Tournament of Southern Hamburg will return next year, promising another day of friendly competition, networking, and support for a worthy cause. With Uta Rade's legacy to build upon, expectations are high for the tournament's continued success.
