Aqualia's Abu Rawash Plant Contract Renewed Until 2029

Aqualia, a global water management company, has seen its contract for operating and maintaining the Abu Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant in Egypt renewed until 2029. This plant, the third-largest in Africa, treats 1.6 million cubic meters of wastewater daily, serving over six million people in the Cairo region. The renewal reflects the high-quality service Aqualia has provided since the plant began operations in 2022.

Aqualia's involvement in Egypt's water infrastructure is not new. The company has developed other strategic projects, including the New Cairo Wastewater Treatment Plant, managed by Aqualia since 2009 under a 20-year public-private partnership. Another notable project is the El Alamein desalination plant, commissioned in 2016, which treats 150,000 cubic meters of water daily, supporting the region's growing tourism industry.

These projects contribute to improving the quality of life in Egypt and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Abu Rawash plant, in particular, is a key infrastructure for public health and sustainable development in the Cairo region. Aqualia's initiatives in Egypt demonstrate the company's commitment to responsible water management and sustainable development.

The renewal of the Abu Rawash plant contract until 2029 is a testament to Aqualia's successful operation and maintenance of the facility. This plant plays a crucial role in ensuring public health and sustainable development in the Cairo region. Aqualia's continued presence in Egypt reflects the company's dedication to improving the quality of life and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
