This impressive figure translated into local tax payments of over $4 million. In addition, Hard Rock Bristol made a significant contribution of just over $4 million to local communities.
Hard Rock Bristol wasn't the only casino enjoying a successful month. Rivers Casino Portsmouth also saw a 5.2% increase in revenue compared to the same month last year, generating $28 million. The casino's local contributions amounted to nearly $5.7 million.
The Caesars Virginia Casino, located in Richmond, saw a significant 68.4% rise in revenue compared to August 2024. The casino raked in about $34.5 million in August 2025. Like its counterparts, Caesars Virginia also made substantial local contributions, amounting to $7.9 million.
The state's gaming taxes are not only benefiting the state's economy but also various charitable causes. More than $35,000 of the state gaming taxes were directed to the Family and Children's Trust Fund, while $140,860 went to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.
These figures underscore the positive impact that the casino industry is having on Virginia's economy and local communities. As the industry continues to grow, it is expected that these contributions will also increase, providing further support for various causes and initiatives.
