Mahindra Unveils Upcoming Electric Vehicles and More
Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, has announced several new models set to hit the market in the coming months. The upcoming vehicles include the Mahindra e20 NXT, Mahindra XUV500 2025, Mahindra Thar E, Mahindra Global Pik Up, and Mahindra XEV 7e.
The Mahindra e20 NXT, an affordable city electric vehicle, is expected to be priced around Rs. 6.50 Lakh, though exact launch dates and full specifications are yet to be announced. The Thar E, an electric version of the popular Thar SUV, will feature a 75 kWh battery pack and is expected to cost approximately Rs. 25.00 Lakh ex-showroom.
The XUV500 2025 will continue as an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) model, with a 2179 cc engine. Details about its electric variant are not confirmed yet. The Global Pik Up and XEV 7e are newer upcoming models, expected to be in the premium segment with prices ranging Rs. 25-35 lakh. However, detailed specs like battery and range are not yet public.
In related news, the Mahindra XEV 9e mid-spec variants, known as Pack Two, have started deliveries across India. The XEV 9e Pack Two 59 kWh option is priced at ₹25.65 lakh, and the 79kWh option is priced at ₹27.25 lakh. The Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two 59 kWh version costs ₹22.65 lakh, and the 79 kWh version costs ₹24.25 lakh.
Meanwhile, Uber India has launched a limited-season motorhome pilot service for intercity travel. The Uber Intercity Motorhome is equipped with a TV, a microwave, a toilet, and a mini-fridge, and can accommodate 4-5 passengers, including a driver and an assistant. The service can be booked by Delhi-NCR users through the Uber app, with bookings going live on August 4. The pilot service will run from August 7 to September 6.
The Indian passenger vehicle market posted mixed trends in July 2025, with some companies showing growth while others showed declines. Mahindra & Mahindra and Kia India posted wholesale growth in July, defying the overall trend. However, Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors, and Hyundai Motor India posted year-on-year declines in dispatches.
On the policy front, the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has been signed, which is expected to benefit the luxury car market in India. The FTA is predicted to lower the prices of CBU luxury cars and electric vehicles manufactured in the UK, including Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, and McLaren.
