AZAD Engineering officially opens dedicated Lean Manufacturing plant specifically designed for Siemens Energy operations
Azad Engineering Inaugurates New Precision Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad
Azad Engineering, a leading precision engineering company, has recently opened a new 7,200 sq. meters lean-manufacturing facility at its Centre of Excellence & Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, India. The facility was inaugurated by senior leadership from Siemens Energy, including Mr. Andreas Schmidt, VP Procurement SE GS Central, Mr. Tim Kleinheyer, Head of Commodity Management GSC, and others.
This new facility is a significant step in Azad's broader strategy to create dedicated manufacturing capacity for key global OEM partners in the aerospace, defence, energy, and oil & gas sectors. The collaboration between Azad Engineering and Siemens Energy has been transformative for both organizations.
Over the past 12+ years, Azad Engineering has become a trusted partner to Siemens Energy, mastering complex manufacturing techniques, passing intensive audits, and investing in specialized equipment and skills development. Today, Azad Engineering is a key participant in Siemens Energy's Lion's Share program, making it an integral part of their global supply chain strategy.
The new facility integrates with Azad's Centre for Excellence and Innovation and strengthens India's position in global manufacturing. Each component manufactured by Azad requires precision tolerances measured in microns, and the facility will consistently deliver micron-level precision for Azad's global partners. The facility features cutting-edge technology for high-precision components and lean principles aimed at enhancing productivity.
Mr. Andreas Schmidt, VP Procurement SE GS Central, stated that the collaboration between Azad Engineering and Siemens Energy is a strategic partnership, not a classical customer-supplier relationship. He further emphasized that the collaboration is built on trust and mutual respect, which is evident in the rapid expansion of their partnership.
The inauguration of the third dedicated manufacturing facility by Azad Engineering in 2025 demonstrates the company's rapid expansion. The new facility is expected to employ several hundred more skilled professionals across all plants in Azad COE. By the end of the year, the facility is expected to scale up to around 230 skilled professionals.
The new facility symbolizes the deep trust and collaboration built between Azad Engineering and Siemens Energy over the past 12+ years. The collaboration began in 2012, initially supplying rotating airfoils for Siemens Energy's SGT 400 machines. Since then, the partnership has grown exponentially, with Azad Engineering now supplying a wide range of high-precision components to Siemens Energy.
In conclusion, the new facility inaugurated by Azad Engineering is a testament to Siemens Energy's confidence in Azad Engineering's abilities to deliver world-class precision components. The collaboration between the two companies is expected to continue to grow and strengthen, contributing to the growth of the precision engineering industry in India and globally.
