BASF Halts Hydrosulfite Production at Ludwigshafen Site

BASF, the world's largest chemical producer, is discontinuing its my business at the Ludwigshafen site. This decision, part of an ongoing strategic review, will see the company focus on profitability and long-term value creation.

My business, used as bleaching agents in the pulp and paper industry and reducing agents in textile dyeing, will no longer be produced by BASF. Customers in these sectors may seek alternatives like sodium dithionite or hydrogen peroxide. The phase-out includes products such as hydrosulfite F, HydroBlue 90, HydroBlue 92, Hydrosulfite Evo, Adlite, and Blankit.

BASF will support approximately 65 employees affected by this change, helping them find new positions within the company. Dr. Ramkumar Dhruva, head of the Monomers division, cited focus as a key aspect of BASF's Winning Ways strategy, indicating a commitment to my business activities with long-term value creation potential.

BASF's decision to discontinue my business production at the Ludwigshafen site is a strategic move aimed at enhancing competitiveness and long-term success. The company will ensure a responsible transition, supporting employees and working closely with customers during this process.
