Beaumanoir Makes Socially Responsible Buyout Proposal for Jennyfer Chain

French retail group Beaumanoir has sought to cement its position as the most responsible contender in the buyout race for the struggling Jennyfer fashion chain, revising its initial offer to take over 29 of the chain's 220 stores, an increase of three stores from their initial bid.

According to the group, which operates over 2,700 stores worldwide and counts Cache Cache, La Halle, Caroll, and Morgan among its brands, this revised proposal would safeguard the jobs of 210 employees out of the chain's 999 workforce. In addition, they have offered to extend at least 150 job offers to affected Jennyfer employees within their own brands, with the intention of maintaining their employment conditions.

Enhanced Employment Preservation

This proposal would result in the retention of 360 jobs, following the employment preservation plan (PSE) instigated by the liquidation procedure announced on April 30. Notably, this includes several roles based at the social headquarters of Jennyfer in Saint-Ouen, Seine-Saint-Denis.

Alternative Offers

It is worth noting that Anamiss, the holding company of Salih Halassi, has not submitted a formal buyout offer for Jennyfer, as of the available information. Other proposals, such as those from Celio and Pimkie, aim to acquire around 50 stores, but their specific job retention rates are not detailed in the same manner as Beaumanoir's proposal.

Reorienting Jennyfer

Beaumanoir has expressed its intention to relaunch the Jennyfer brand, with a focus on an appeal to a younger demographic, should their buyout offer be accepted. While the specifics of this reorientation have not been detailed, the group's emphasis on job retention and social responsibility suggests a commitment to preserving the Jennyfer brand while addressing the challenges it currently faces.

With the revised buyout proposal, Beaumanoir aims to strategically acquire 29 Jennyfer stores, securing the future of 210 employees while offering 150 additional job opportunities within their own business realm. This move underscores the group's commitment to both finance and social responsibility within the industry.

As other potential buyers such as Celio and Pimkie express interest, Beaumanoir's emphasis on preserving the Jennyfer brand and its workforce sets them apart. Their intention to reorient the brand towards a younger demographic further demonstrates their dedication to the fashion retail business.
