In Germany, intranets typically serve 9.1 users on average, while globally the figure stands at 10.6 users. Notably, 74 percent of smaller companies (fewer than 50 employees) host their intranets on their own servers. In contrast, 73 percent of larger enterprises opt for cloud-based solutions. Collaborative work is the primary use for German intranets, with 63 percent dedicated to collaborative documents and 61 percent to project management. Internationally, communication is the main purpose, with 61 percent of intranets used for this purpose. Bitrix24 users in Germany show a higher tendency to access their intranets via mobile devices, with 48 percent using smartphones or tablets compared to the international average of 36 percent. Industries such as insurance, banking, and public administration frequently use intranets, with around 50 percent of employees logging in daily. Educational institutions, churches, healthcare facilities, and non-profits also leverage intranets, though to a lesser extent.

Mobile access is prevalent among German users, and collaborative work is the primary use case in Germany, while international intranets focus more on communication.
