In the remote regions of Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, a gold mining company's illegal activities have escalated an environmental crisis. According to the "Khabarovsk Krai Today" News Agency, the company, whose name remains unspecified, has been operating without a permit and discharging waste into the Yakchi River.

The company's actions have caused significant environmental damage to the Yakchi and Hor Rivers. The concentration of suspended solids in the Yakchi River, due to the gold mining company's activities, is over a hundred times the norm. This illegal discharge of wastewater has also resulted in damage to the regional waterbody, with the total estimated damage now exceeding 2 Million Rubles.

The gold mining company has already been fined 1.7 Million Rubles for the pollution it caused. However, discussions are underway to hold the company administratively accountable for the violations it has committed.

The environmental prosecutor's office is overseeing the rectification of the violations, including the cleanup of both the Yakchi and Hor Rivers. The gold mining company was extracting gold from alluvial deposits near the Bolitistyi Creek in Lazovsky District.

The pollution from the gold mining company has spread to the Hor River, putting more pressure on the already strained environmental situation in Khabarovsk Krai. The company's actions are considered illegal, and it is likely that it could face additional fines due to the spread of pollution to the Hor River.

The illegal activities of the gold mining company have resulted in a significant increase in the pollution levels of the regional waterbodies. The company did not have a permit for water use, making its operations all the more illegal and harmful to the environment.

The environmental crisis in Khabarovsk Krai is a stark reminder of the need for stricter regulations and enforcement of environmental laws to protect our precious water resources. As the situation continues to unfold, it is crucial that the appropriate authorities take swift and decisive action to ensure the health and safety of the region's ecosystem and its inhabitants.
