Business Prospers and Flourishes After Being Featured on Shark Tank TV Show
In the bustling world of skincare products, a small Florida-based company named Nardo's Naturals has made a significant splash, thanks to an investment from one of the Shark Tank members, Barbara Corcoran.
Founded in 2009 by the Mastronardo brothers, Nardo's Naturals began as a labour of love, with the brothers creating all their products by hand in their kitchen and managing everything from labelling to shipping. The company specialised in a variety of all-natural skincare products, including moisturizers, body scrubs, cleansers, lip balms, a pain relief cream, an organic bug repellent, and more.
In April 2011, the brothers took a leap of faith and sent an email submission to Shark Tank after being inspired by an episode of the show. Their journey led them to Los Angeles in June 2011, where they taped a segment for the popular TV show.
During the taping, Corcoran was drawn to Nardo's Naturals' unique products and the brothers' passion for their business. She asked for a 50% equity stake in exchange for a $75,000 investment, which the brothers agreed to. Corcoran's investment marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership.
Following the investment, Corcoran worked tirelessly to get Nardo's Naturals products on QVC and HSN. She also connected the brothers with her personal network, new business development team, and other Shark Tank businesses she had invested in, providing them with invaluable expertise in design, marketing, and operations.
The investment paid off when, after the show aired on March 9, 2012, Nardo's Naturals received a staggering 1.1 million Website hits and hundreds of orders within a 24-hour period. The "Fourever Young" kit became the flagship product of Nardo's Naturals, propelling the brand to new heights.
In response to the sudden surge in demand, the brothers made some changes to their operations. They contracted with a local company to hand-pour products on a larger scale, changed their labels and bottles, and cut down their product line to focus on core products.
The brothers' commitment to work full-time in the business, coupled with Corcoran's guidance, led to a revised deal being negotiated after the show. The brothers' hard work and dedication have paid off, with the company on track to make $4.8 million in sales in the next two years.
Three of the brothers moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, after Danny graduated from the University of Tampa. K.J., the youngest, moved to St. Petersburg recently to work full-time in the business. The brothers' journey is far from over, as they are currently working on a pilot for their own reality show.
Investment from Barbara Corcoran has undoubtedly been a game-changer for Nardo's Naturals, transforming a small kitchen-based operation into a thriving skincare brand. The future looks bright for this Florida-based company, and it will be exciting to see where their journey takes them next.
