Cameroon's ART Chief to Evaluate MTN, Orange's Network Quality Commitments in Douala
On October 3, 2025, the Director General of Cameroon's Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART), Prof. Philémon Zoo Zame, will conduct an in-depth evaluation of telecom operators' commitments to improve network quality in Douala. Meetings are scheduled with the CEOs of MTN CM and Orange CM.
The ART aims to foster a constructive dialogue with stakeholders, promoting a culture of performance and shared responsibility. The evaluation will focus on four key areas: investment implementation, unit costs, expense breakdown, and the consistency between financial commitments and observed results. This inspection seeks to establish a shared diagnosis of the real scope of investments and measure their impact on quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE). In the event of delays or shortcomings, corrective measures may be required to ensure compliance with international standards.
The ART's evaluation in Douala on October 3, 2025, is a significant step towards enhancing network quality in Cameroon. By assessing the commitments of MTN CM and Orange CM, the ART aims to improve QoS and QoE for consumers, fostering a more competitive and reliable telecommunications sector.
