Cadillac Unveils the Elevated Velocity Concept: A High-Tech, Luxurious, and Versatile Electric Crossover
Cadillac has unveiled its latest concept car, the Elevated Velocity, at a recent event. This all-electric, high-performance 2+2 crossover aims to merge Cadillac's V-Series sports legacy with ultra-luxury and advanced off-road capability.
The Elevated Velocity concept is a bold design study signaling Cadillac's future direction in electrified high-performance luxury crossovers. It is not intended for production but serves as a preview of Cadillac’s future design language and performance approach.
Key features of the Elevated Velocity include its dual character, which combines "Elevated" refined, immersive cabin luxury with "Velocity" high-performance electric driving. The concept offers selectable immersive drive modes, transforming the cabin atmosphere and driving experience. These modes include Welcome Mode, Elevate Mode, and Velocity Mode.
In Welcome Mode, illuminated entry via large gull-wing doors welcomes passengers. Elevate Mode converts the interior into a wellness/recovery space with infrared light therapy, synchronized breathing visuals, retractable controls, and soothing ambient lighting to aid controlled breathwork. Velocity Mode enhances driving focus with cool-toned lighting, deployable steering wheel, and augmented reality HUD navigation.
The Elevated Velocity also boasts off-road capability, featuring a lifted platform, active/adaptive air suspension raising the vehicle in Terra mode for challenging off-road conditions, alongside large 24-inch wheels. The concept offers driving modes for e-Velocity (road), Terra (off-road), and Sand Vision (visibility in sandstorms).
The exterior design of the Elevated Velocity is distinctive, with a Vapor Blue paint finish resembling glacial ice and fiery red interior inspired by desert polo. The concept features Cadillac’s signature vertical taillights, fluted translucent lighting, and dramatic proportions like a short front overhang and long hood. Massive gull-wing doors allow easy entry and exit.
Inside, the cabin combines rich red Nappa leather and boucle fabric, with a futuristic dashboard integrating infotainment into the base of the windshield and a steering wheel screen. Autonomous driving capability is hinted, with steering wheel and pedals retracting in Elevated mode for a spa-like environment.
