Commencement of Passenger Service on DART's Silver Line scheduled for October 25th
The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is set to launch a new transportation option for travel between various cities and DFW International Airport, with the Silver Line starting passenger service on October 25.
DART Board of Directors Chair Gary Slagel, who was appointed chairman of the DART committee in 1987, considers the Silver Line as an investment for both today's riders and future generations. In a statement, Slagel emphasised the Silver Line's role in connecting the region and driving economic growth across North Texas.
The Silver Line, a state-of-the-art train, will connect Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, and Grapevine, Texas, with the airport, improving connections and creating new access to jobs. The new transportation option is expected to drive economic growth, making commuting more efficient and connecting businesses in the region.
Slagel's statement underscores the Silver Line's importance to the community, with the chairman expressing pride in the opening of the Silver Line and welcoming the community aboard. The Silver Line has a fitting theme of "Discover New Horizons," reflecting the opportunities it presents for the region.
DART President and CEO Nadine Lee stated that the Silver Line is a promise kept to riders and the region, highlighting the train's significance to the community. The Silver Line shows DART riders that their concerns were heard and addressed, with the new transportation option designed to meet the needs of the community.
To celebrate the launch, the Silver Line will be free to ride from October 25 through November 8, giving the community an opportunity to experience the new transportation option first-hand. The Silver Line is anticipated to be a major step forward in building a stronger, more connected region, with Slagel considering it a significant milestone in regional development.
In conclusion, the Silver Line represents a significant investment in the future of North Texas, connecting the region and driving economic growth. With its efficient and modern design, the Silver Line is set to make a positive impact on the community and provide a much-needed transportation solution for the region.
