In a significant stride towards energy independence, Elsaco-Energomontaj has emerge triumphant in a power play organized by the Municipality of Râmnicu Vâlcea. The grand prize? A gas-fueled powerhouse pumping out a whopping 145 MW, dubbed as the CET Govora platform project by insiders, as reported by Economedia.

Gear up, because the future is bright! The value of the deal is a staggering RON 534 million (EUR 100 million), and the project is gleaming with EU budget support.

The stellar power plant, once operational, will be tethered to Romania's gas network through a fresh connection crafted by Transgaz, and to the power grid by Transelectrica's Govora station.

Under the auspices of the contract, the construction activities are set to kick off no later than December 31, 2026, with an execution period of 25 months from the moment the work commencement order is signed. This spectacular undertaking comes with a 24-month warranty too!

But wait, there's more. A smaller project, worth RON 70 million, is also in the works. It aims to erect a compact biomass power plant, outfitted with 5 MW of thermal capacity and 1.8 MW electrical prowess, on the same platform.
