Construction of L 280 stretch from Ludweiler to Werbeln: total shutdown starting 30th July 2025
Renovation Works Set to Begin on State Road L 280
The State Road Authority (LfS) has announced extensive renovation works on State Road L 280, between Ludweiler and Werbeln, scheduled to begin on July 30, 2025, and continue until approximately August 8, 2025.
The aim of these maintenance efforts is to sustainably repair the road surface, improving safety and comfort for drivers. The LfS's goal is to prevent future damage and the need for more extensive measures.
During the construction period, the road section will likely be closed or have significant restrictions. Traffic will be rerouted, and drivers are advised to follow the posted detour signs carefully. Detour routes have been set up to redirect traffic around the construction zone.
Due to the detours, drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time. Delays can be expected, and it's recommended to consider using alternative routes if possible to avoid congestion. Local commuters should plan ahead and stay updated on traffic information.
For those who prefer to listen to the radio for updates, the LfS recommends monitoring current traffic updates during the renovation period. The project involves resurfacing approximately 1.25 kilometers of State Road L 280 with a new asphalt layer.
The official detour route from Werbeln goes via L 168 to Wadgassen, then on L 271 through Hostenbach and Schaffhausen to Volklingen-Wehrden, and then on L 165 through the Volklingen district of Geislautern back to L 280 in Ludweiler. The detour route for traffic during the renovation on State Road L 280 remains the same as previously announced.
During the construction, the parking area near the cemetery along L 280 will be inaccessible. The renovation on State Road L 280 is part of the LfS's ongoing maintenance efforts for road infrastructure in Saarland.
Drivers are advised to be patient and adhere to the detour signs during the renovation works. The LfS's maintenance efforts on State Road L 280 are aimed at improving the safety and comfort of drivers on the road, ensuring a smoother journey for everyone in the future.
The LfS's maintenance works on State Road L 280 not only focus on the road surface, but also extend to the industry of finance, as the renovation might impact businesses along the route and disrupt usual transportation patterns. The public-transit systems may need to adjust their routes temporarily to accommodate the detours, ensuring smooth transportation for commuters.
