Corporate Headquarters Synced via LED Displays

United Community Bank, a stalwart in the southeastern United States since its establishment in 1950, has recently unveiled its new corporate headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina. The seven-story, 118,000-square-foot building, situated along the Reedy River, abides by the WELL Building Standard, championing health and wellbeing in its construction.

The facility flaunts open and well-lit spaces, advanced air and water filtration systems, and environmentally-friendly materials, promising efficiency and thermal comfort. Noteworthy amenities include quiet zones for stimulating collaboration and downtime, two terraces, 29 conference rooms, and a dedicated gathering space with a coffee bar.

Two Planar fine-pitch LED video walls, installed by commercial AV designer and integrator Advanced Video Group, take center stage in the bank's interior design. According to Jason Lynch, director of facilities and purchasing at United Community Bank, these installations underscore the integral role technology plays in the building's design. "It's a vital component of the experience we aim to create," he asserted.

In the fourth-floor lobby and gathering space, the Welcome Wall, a nearly 14-foot-wide and 8-foot-high LED video wall featuring a 1.2mm pixel pitch from the Planar MGP Series, serves as the main attraction. The versatile display accommodates digital signage, messaging, presentations, and entertainment. "It's a standout feature," Lynch declared. "Upon entering the building, the video wall greets visitors immediately."

The video wall functions as a message board, allowing United to disseminate news, announcements, or updates, including quarterly results. It also caters to personalized greetings for clients and guests, ensuring a lasting impression. "We aspire to create an unforgettable experience for those who visit our building," added Lynch.

Employees too, benefit from the video wall, with its real-time display of social media posts and recognition of birthdays and work anniversaries. "It reinforces our corporate culture and aligns with our vision to create a workspace that invigorates our staff," Lynch explained.

In the bank's new boardroom, Advanced Video Group installed a nearly 12-foot-wide and 7-foot-high LED video wall from the Planar TVF Series with a 1.5mm pixel pitch. Combined with automatic tracking cameras, microphones, and a Cisco Webex room pro system, the innovative LED video wall powers presentations and video conferences.

Adam Dox, president of Advanced Video Group, praised the integration of the Planar displays, lauding the seamless transition for traditional video sources and the reliability of Planar displays in high-visibility, high-traffic areas. Mark Terry, chief information officer at United Community Bank, concurred, highlighting the superior picture quality as a decisive factor in their adoption. "It's not merely technology—it's a conduit bringing our community together," Terry said.

  1. The new United Community Bank headquarters showcases a digital signage feature, the Welcome Wall, a large LED video wall installed by Advanced Video Group in the fourth-floor lobby.
  2. Technology plays a significant role in the building's design, with installations like the LED video walls from Planar in key areas such as the fourth-floor lobby and the boardroom.
  3. Not only do these technological installations cater to the needs of clients and employees for information and entertainment, but they also align with the bank's business vision of creating an invigorating workspace.
