Croatian Bus Company Caught Evading €113,400 in Passenger Fees
A Flixbus tour from France to Strasbourg via Konstanz was recently inspected by German customs in Konstanz, revealing a significant passenger transport fee evasion case. The unpaid fees, amounting to €113,400, were uncovered on September 29, 2025. The bus, carrying 43 passengers, was found to have evaded fees for 2022, with additional late fees incurred. During the inspection, the travel company promptly paid €50,000 of the claims via immediate transfer. This action is in line with border enforcement practices, which allow for the collection of public-law monetary claims, including those from foreign-based debtors with an international connection. The unpaid fees and resulting late fees totalled €113,400. The travel company acknowledged and partially settled the debt during the inspection. Further details on the resolution of the remaining balance and any potential penalties are yet to be disclosed.
