Crypto Tycoon Justin Sun Announces Attendence at Trump Dinner as Self-Proclaimed Owner of Leading Meme Coin

Justin Sun, the visionary founder of Tron, has confirmed his status as the top holder of the President Trump-endorsed meme coin, TRUMP, officially solana-based. This high-profile position has earned him an invite to the upcoming gala dinner hosted by the former president, along with an exclusive reception and private tour.

However, the dinner has attracted controversy due to its connection to Trump's family's crypto ventures and Sun's involvement. Earlier reports had suspected Sun as the leaderboard's "Sun" username holder, a conjecture that now appears to be confirmed.

The top 220 holders of the President Trump meme coin were vying for a place at the gala dinner, to be held at Trump National Golf Course in Washington D.C. The top 25 individuals, including Sun, were named as VIPs and entitled to attend an exclusive reception and special tour in addition to the gala dinner.

"Honored to support POTUS and grateful for the invitation," Sun wrote on social media, confirming his place as the top TRUMP coin holder. The wallet linked to Sun contains over 1.5 million TRUMP tokens, currently valued at nearly $20 million.

The TRUMP meme coin saw a surge in price following the announcement of the gala dinner on April 23, eclipsing $14 for the first time since March. Sun's wallet witnessed a net influx of over 359,000 TRUMP tokens during the leaderboard period, amounting to around $4.72 million at today's prices.

While Sun's position as the top TRUMP coin holder on the official leaderboard does not equate to the highest on-chain holder, he ranks 24th in this regard, according to data from block explorer Solscan.

Sun's support for the Trump family's crypto endeavors is nothing new. He had previously invested $30 million in WLFI governance tokens from the Trump-linked DeFi protocol, World Liberty Financial.

The upcoming gala dinner has drawn scrutiny, with Democratic senators previously requesting a probe into the event, citing "grave ethics and legal concerns." Last week, Sun was mentioned in a letter from House Democrats seeking access to suspicious activity reports into Trump's crypto activities.

Despite the ongoing inquiries, Sun appears nonchalant. He recently posted "All in USA" on a photo album featuring him alongside Eric Trump and in front of the Hollywood sign, seemingly unbothered by the ongoing investigations.

This development continues the complex relationship between the crypto industry and high-profile political figures. The potential for financial support to influence access or policy remains a subject of ongoing debate and scrutiny.
