Over 70 enforcement officers from the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt are currently inspecting the showmen's trade at the Kiliani Volksfest in Würzburg. The aim is to ensure compliance with social security obligations and the payment of the statutory minimum wage. The inspections, led by spokesperson Benedikt Danz, also target illegal employment, sham self-employment, and improper receipt of social benefits.

The inspections are risk-oriented and focus on the showmen's trade, which is particularly affected by black work. Despite the search, the names of the showmen involved have not been revealed. The operation began early today and will continue until late afternoon, with the goal of maintaining fair labour practices within the festival's trade industry.

The customs office is committed to upholding labour laws and preventing exploitation. The inspections at the Kiliani Volksfest are part of their ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with social security obligations and fair wages for all workers.
