Danfoss House: First Brick & Concrete Multi-Family Home to Earn DGNB Platinum

Danfoss Home, Denmark's pioneering multi-family residence constructed from brick and concrete, has accomplished an impressive feat. The building, situated in Sønderborg, has been honored with the prestigious DGNB Platinum certification. This elite status is a testament to its innovative energy-efficient solutions and commitment to sustainability.

The project was spearheaded by Otto Nowack, who oversaw the integration of various energy-saving features. The home stands out in a sector responsible for a significant portion of global energy consumption and CO2 emissions - over a third and 40% respectively. Despite its robust construction using brick and concrete, Danfoss Home has managed to minimize its energy consumption without compromising the comfort of its residents.

This remarkable achievement sets Danfoss Home apart. It is the only multi-family residence made of these traditional materials to receive such a high level of recognition for its energy efficiency.

The DGNB Platinum certification awarded to Danfoss Home demonstrates that sustainability and comfort can coexist in multi-family housing. Otto Nowack's leadership has shown that even with traditional materials like brick and concrete, innovative energy-efficient solutions can make a significant difference in reducing a building's environmental impact.
