JJ Vaquero, a well-known comedian in Spain, has made a surprising shift from the world of laughter to the realm of strength, setting a new record in powerlifting. The 50-year-old comedian, who has been in the comedy profession with his partner Alex Clavero for over 20 years, recently broke the Spanish powerlifting record in the Masters 2 category for men over 50 years old and under 93 kilos.

In the Spanish powerlifting championship, Vaquero lifted an impressive 265.5 kilograms in the deadlift exercise, a national record for this age group. This achievement marks a significant milestone in his powerlifting career, demonstrating his dedication and strength beyond his comedic pursuits.

Vaquero's powerlifting journey began as a means to leave his vices behind and improve his life. His first taste of success came in 1995, when he was crowned Spanish champion by the Spanish Powerlifting Association. He repeated this feat in 1996 and 1997, both times as a junior and senior champion respectively.

Despite setting a national record, Vaquero has ruled out reaching his dream of lifting 300 kilos in the deadlift exercise. However, his powerlifting achievements are of great importance to him, and he is celebrating the current favorable economic period in his life, stating that it will allow him and his wife to live peacefully.

Vaquero's financial difficulties in the past, including going into debt with multiple people, including Dani Rovira, are well-documented. He plans to repay his debts, including the 7,500 euros owed to Rovira, with the earnings from his new program, "The Guard Booth," which he will be presenting on a website alongside Alex Clavero.

"The Guard Booth" is a unique program that features reviews of iconic television moments with improvised reactions and comments from Vaquero and Clavero. The duo will be appearing together starting July 14th.

Beyond their powerlifting and comedy careers, both Vaquero and Clavero are family men. They are fathers of two and have been in relationships with their respective partners for over 25 years.

JJ Vaquero's financial improvements from the success of "The Guard Booth" program will not only help him repay past debts, such as the 7,500 euros owed to Dani Rovira, but also allow him and his wife to maintain a more comfortable, or average, lifestyle. The newfound fame and wealth in Vaquero's powerlifting career, coupled with his successful comedy profession with Alex Clavero, have expanded his interests beyond just sports, reaching into the realm of finance and lifestyle.
