demolition of the former Berlin Hyp building is currently in progress, making way for a new construction
The construction of Berlin Hyp's new headquarters is progressing as planned, with the project scheduled for completion by the end of 2023. Located on a plot between Luetzowufer and Keithstraße in Berlin-Charlottenburg, the new building will accommodate 570 employees and serve as an appealing landmark at the beginning of Budapester Straße.
The architectural office C.F. Møller Architects has been commissioned to design the new headquarters, which will be named "B-One". The design includes green terraces, a self-shading facade, and integrated photovoltaic modules for on-site power generation.
The self-shading facade, combined with the planted terraces, will reduce sunlight and create a calm, discreet appearance. The photovoltaic modules will be integrated into the natural stone facade grid, further emphasising the building's commitment to sustainability.
Inside, the new headquarters will house office spaces, conference areas, a cafeteria, and an underground garage. The construction of the new headquarters is being carried out by the construction company Hochtief.
Meanwhile, other significant construction projects are underway in Berlin. The renovation and expansion of the Bauhaus Museum in the Tiergarten are ongoing, and two new buildings for the TU are being created on Fasanenstraße.
Another notable project nearing completion is the "Gloria Berlin" new building project on Ku'damm. As Berlin continues to grow and evolve, the city's skyline is being reshaped by innovative and sustainable architectural designs. The new headquarters for Berlin Hyp is a testament to this ongoing transformation.
Berlin Hyp's current headquarters on Budapester Straße is being demolished to make way for the new building. The demolition marks the end of an era for the financial institution, as it prepares to step into a more sustainable and climate-friendly future.
