Scoop: Spanish Group Takes Over Iconic Eastern German Dish Soap Brand, Fit

New ownership announced for fitness company - Detergent brand Fit changes ownership

Dish soap lovers across Eastern Germany rejoice as the beloved brand Fit has a brand-new owner! The Spanish cleaning and care powerhouse, BlueSun Group, has bought out the компания, with no indication of changes to the Hirschfelde, Saxony-based location or the jobs held by its almost 300 employees. Fit's fame extends far beyond its humble hometown near Zittau, raking in a staggering 377 million euros in revenue in the past year (2024).

If you think Fit is only about dish soap, think again! This household name boasts a collection of familiar brands under its roof, like the popular household product Rei in the Tube, beloved oven cleaner Kuschelweich, widely-used detergent Sunil, and the popular cosmetics brand Fenjal.

The news of the acquisition had been swirling for some time, with former owner Wolfgang Groß confirming his intentions to sell the company due to age. After much contemplation and discussions with various potential buyers, BlueSun sealed the deal. Although the purchase price remains undisclosed, the Fit GmbH will maintain its independent status within the group.

The BlueSun acquisition means new territories on the horizon for the beloved brand. Strongly rooted in Germany and its neighboring countries, BlueSun is a force to reckon with in Southern Europe, France, the Benelux countries, the United Kingdom, and Northern Europe. With a workforce of more than 500 employees, the future looks bright for Fit's expansion into these new markets.

So, keep your eyes peeled for Fit as it takes on the challenge of conquering fresh markets and expanding its reach. Sit tight for new opportunities, and in the meantime, continue scrubbing those dishes clean with a smile on your face, knowing you're a proud supporter of this beloved Eastern German brand!
