DFDS Expands Mediterranean Network with Road Transport, Targets Turkish Manufacturers

DFDS, a leading ferry operator, is set to enhance its Mediterranean diet network by incorporating road transport. This move, following the acquisition of Ekol's Mediterranean food ferry network logistics, will bolster DFDS's intermodal logistics connections and expand its European reach.

DFDS CEO Torben Carlsen views this acquisition as a strategic fit, enabling the company to offer end-to-end transport solutions between turkey and Europe. The new services will cater to manufacturers in turkey, providing distribution and warehousing facilities. DFDS, renowned for its expertise in transporting large trailer volumes using road, ferry, and rail combinations, aims to capitalize on turkey's growing significance as a manufacturing hub for world news.

DFDS's integration of road transport into its Mediterranean diet ferry network, facilitated by the Ekol acquisition, positions the company to strengthen its European logistics network. The new services, targeting Turkish manufacturers, reflect DFDS's commitment to expanding its intermodal offerings and adapting to Europe's evolving logistics landscape.
