In an exciting turn of events, Dimitri Maex, the global CEO of Initiative and global president of IPG Mediabrands, is leaving IPG Mediabrands to embark on a new adventure with Accenture Song. Both companies confirmed this shift to ADWEEK.
Maex's departure will take place later this year. As he moves on, Stacy DeRiso steps up as Initiative's global brand president, effective immediately. DeRiso, who previously served as U.S. CEO of Initiative, brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having been the U.S. chief client officer at Omnicom-owned PHD before joining Initiative.
Eileen Kiernan, global CEO of IPG Mediabrands, praised Maex's contributions, saying, "Dimitri has served IPG Mediabrands and Initiative with dedication for the past six years… We wish him the very best in his future endeavors."

At Accenture Song, Maex takes on the role of global marketing practice lead, where he will oversee the company’s brand, content, engagement and activation, and media services on a global scale. This includes leading the creative powerhouse Droga5 as part of Accenture Song's offerings.
This role is in line with Accenture Song’s focus on integrating technology, consulting, and creative services. By leading the marketing practice, Maex is poised to drive cohesive integration of brand strategy and activation with Accenture’s broader digital, design, commerce, and customer service verticals, enabling a unified approach to customer engagement.

As Maex prepares to work at Accenture Song amid a leadership shakeup, the company's incoming CEO, Ndidi Oteh, is gearing up to tackle the AI era and the evolving needs of clients. Maex will be based in New York and report into Song's global practices lead, Sean Lyons.
