Disney Hikes Streaming Prices for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select
Disney has announced price increases for its streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select. This is the fourth consecutive year that Disney+ has raised its prices, with the increases planned months in advance and unrelated to the recent Jimmy Kimmel controversy.
Starting in December, the standalone Hulu plan with ads will cost $2 more, totaling $11.99 per month. The Disney+ and Hulu with ads bundle will also increase by $2, bringing the total to $12.99. Meanwhile, the Disney+ Premium plan without ads will rise by $3 to $18.99 per month, or $30 more annually to $189.99.
The ESPN Select subscription will see a $1 increase to $12.99 per month. For those who bundle Disney+, Hulu with ads, and ESPN Select with ads, the price will go up by $3 to $19.99.
These price hikes come after Disney faced backlash for suspending Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show on ABC. However, Disney executives, including CEO Bob Iger and Co-Chair Dana Walden, have confirmed that the streaming price increases were planned independently of the Kimmel controversy.
