In the heart of Düsseldorf, the city savings bank recently hosted a summit meeting of civic engagement, marking the 200th anniversary celebration of the savings bank on Berliner Allee. Over 200 guests from Düsseldorf and Monheim attended the event, which was highlighted by Mayor Keller as a testament to the importance of financial support for volunteer work in the city.

The event offered a unique opportunity for non-profit organisations in the fields of tradition, culture, children and youth work, or sports. A total of 206 associations received financial support between 800 and 20,000 euros from the purpose fund. This year, a quarter of the lottery pot, amounting to 781,440 euros, was distributed to these organisations.

Mayor Keller emphasised that each of the 206 associations had drawn the big lottery ticket, with four euros from the purchase price being saved, and one euro going into the lottery pot. The annual PS prize draw of the city savings bank, which was held at the forum of the savings bank, has been a significant source of funding for local non-profits in recent years, with over 50 million euros flowing into the common good of Düsseldorf.

Customers can buy PS lottery tickets for five euros to secure a chance to win up to 250,000 euros. The music school Monheim was present with seven young musicians who received applause for their performances, and the association MoveArts gave a sample of their piece "Tohuwabohu" at the event.

The savings bank team excellently catered to the guests, and a diverse exchange took place between the guests on the gallery and terrace of the forum. Dr. Michael Meyer, a member of the board of the savings bank, welcomed the guests, emphasising the importance of the event in strengthening togetherness and making Düsseldorf richer. The deputy mayor of the city of Monheim, Özgü M. Kabukçu, was also present at the event.

The event provided a platform for 206 non-profit organizations in the realms of tradition, culture, children and youth work, or sports, receiving financial support ranging from 800 to 20,000 euros, allotted from the purpose fund. This year, a substantial portion of the lottery pot, equating to 781,440 euros, was dispersed to these associations.

Mayor Keller elaborated that the purchase price for the annual PS prize draw lottery tickets, at five euros, not only offers a chance to win up to 250,000 euros but also contributes significantly to the funding of local non-profit organizations, with over 50 million euros channeled into thecommon good of Düsseldorf in recent years.
