Mergers & Acquisitions

Agile Robots, a Munich-based robotics company, has acquired the remaining shares in BMW Group spin-off idealworks. With this acquisition, Agile Robots now holds 100% of idealworks, and the BMW Group remains a long-term partner. Meanwhile, in Berlin, Polish company SINGU has acquired net-haus, a web-based building management software provider. Elsewhere, an unnamed buyer has acquired the Berlin-based office furniture as-a-service startup nuwo, and another buyer has acquired the Berliner startup nuwo, although the specific acquiring company has not been disclosed publicly.

Investments

Kertos, a Munich-based FinTech startup, has raised €14 million in a funding round led by Portage. The funds will be used to automate regulatory requirements and certification standards using AI. Portage now holds approximately 16% of Kertos, while Cusp Capital, an Essen-based investor, has invested an undisclosed sum in leadity, a Hamburg-based SME ESG and CO2 software company. Leadity, founded in 2019 as a spin-off of sustainability consultancy fjol, has 600 SME clients from 20 industries using its software.

Suena energy, a Hamburg-based startup, has received €8 million in funding from Eneco Ventures, 4impact capital, and others. Suena energy develops a cloud-based optimization software for techno-economic optimization of storage operation based on predictive models. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its position in the energy storage market, focus on international expansion, scale its business model, and optimize the co-location of storage systems with renewable energy assets. Suena energy has previously raised around €4 million.
