The city of Hochfeld has announced that construction work on the asphalt repairs on Wanheimer Straße will commence on October 1st, 2022. The project, which was previously mentioned, aims to rectify the condition of the road, but no new information about the cost or specific nature of the repairs has been provided.

During the construction period, pedestrians and cyclists will continue to be able to pass through the area unhindered. For motorists, a detour has been planned, routing through Wörthstraße (an unaffected section), Heerstraße, Karl-Jarres-Straße, and Rheinhauser Straße onto Rudolf-Schock-Straße. This detour will remain in place throughout the duration of the construction work.

Those coming from Wanheimerort or the Bridge of Solidarity will still be able to turn onto Wanheimer Straße and head towards Pauluskirche. However, the construction work will continue to prevent turning from Wanheimer Straße onto Wörthstraße towards the Bridge of Solidarity or towards Wanheimerort if approaching from Pauluskirche.

The city’s road maintenance department (Straßenbauamt) will carry out the asphalt repairs project, which is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025. At this time, no new information about any potential delays or changes to the construction schedule, disruptions to local businesses, or impact on public transportation has been provided.

Stay tuned for further updates on this project as they become available.
