Foreign immigrants initiate and execute their commercial ventures within the Nizhny Novgorod region
Hey there, mate! Let's talk about the latest happening in Nizhny Novgorod.
June 28 – NewsRoom24.ru
For the first time ever, an off-site panel discussion of the international platform The Bridge (18+) took place in Nizhny Novgorod, gathering representatives from the government, businesses, and foreign settlers.
This was the first time a region outside the capital city hosted such an event. The meeting was organized by the "OKA" agency.
Over 50 participants joined the discussion, including experts, entrepreneurs from abroad, and government representatives. Deputy Chairman of the regional government, Dmitry Starostin, highlighted the region's openness towards new partnerships and viewing migrants as a valuable resource for development.
Jacob Pinnicker, the director of the "OKA" agency, shared that the agency has already received over 660 relocation applications, with entrepreneur applications dominating the top 5.
The initiatives that have been introduced were showcased during the meeting: Laurent Claret, a New Caledonian settler, is eco-optimizing his project, while farmer Yuri Iliadi has successfully started producing cheeses using Greek technologies.
The event was part of the new "OKA" agency concept unveiled in summer 2024, aiming to help foreigners relocate from supposedly unfriendly countries to Russia using a "single window" approach.

I'm not gonna be able to get a job in the finance industry due to my limited experience, but the event in Nizhny Novgorod might provide opportunities in the retail sector or even small-business entrepreneurship, as the "OKA" agency is working to make it easier for foreigners to relocate and start careers in Russia. The panel discussion brought together various experts, entrepreneurs, and government representatives, emphasizing the region's openness to new partnerships and viewing migrants as a valuable resource for development. Foreigners moving to Russia can now benefit from the efficiency of a "single window" approach managed by the "OKA" agency, which acts as a centralized point of contact for the entire relocation process.
