Four Workers Arrested in Wetzlar for Illegal Residence
Four construction workers, two from Bosnia and two from Kosovo, were temporarily arrested in Wetzlar's Dillfeld industrial area. The workers, aged 22 to 40, were involved in ventilation construction work at a new company building. They could not present valid residence permits for Germany.
The workers had been in Germany for varying lengths of time - the Bosnian workers for a month, and the Kosovar workers for nearly a year. They were found to have limited residence permits for Croatia, which did not authorize work in Germany.
Customs officers at the scene retained the passports of the four men and alerted the foreign authority in Wetzlar. An investigation has been launched against the workers' employer by the customs office.
The arrested workers are suspected of illegal residence in Wetzlar. Further details about the company that sent them to Germany are yet to be revealed.
