Frankfurt Customs Authority Raids Uncover Labor, Immigration Violations
FKS recently conducted a targeted action at construction sites, uncovering several labor and immigration violations. The action, aimed at ensuring compliance with social security obligations and minimum wage, resulted in multiple arrests and investigations.
During the inspections, FKS discovered five foreign nationals working without proper residence permits: three Serbians, one Albanian, and one Kosovar. The Albanian citizen, wanted since March 2025 for not complying with a departure order, was handed over to the police.
The labor inspection division examined the employment conditions of 3,104 individuals across 244 employers in 2024. Seven employees were fined for not carrying identification, while six others were provisionally arrested on suspicion of illegal residence. A total of 71 violations of the immediate notification obligation were detected.
FKS also initiated 1,891 criminal proceedings and 887 individual cases for administrative offenses in 2024, with total damages of approximately 61.9 million euros. Sixty-one cases required further examination for potential non-compliance with social security notification obligations.
The FKS's focus action highlights the authority's commitment to maintaining fair labor practices and immigration compliance. The operation resulted in multiple investigations and arrests, demonstrating the seriousness of the offenses and the need for strict enforcement.
