Gaza Flotilla Defies Israeli Blockade as US-Turkey-Israel Tensions Flare Over TikTok and Iran

Gaza flotilla presses on despite Israeli blockade, while Israel and the United States remain at odds over TikTok's ownership. Meanwhile, Turkey takes diplomatic action against Iran and Israel.

The Gaza flotilla, aiming to break Israel's blockade, reports that non-intercepted vessels continue their journey despite Israeli efforts to halt their progress. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stressed the strategic importance of TikTok's ownership change, with Oracle now acting as the security provider for the app's US operations. This move, orchestrated under former Oracle CEO Safra Catz's leadership, has placed American investors in control of TikTok's US algorithm. Catz, in a 2015 email, advocated against pro-Palestinian activism on American college campuses.

In Turkey, Fenerbahce striker Jhon Duran is reported to be depressed and unwilling to play following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho. Meanwhile, Turkish broadcaster NTV has fired reporter Huseyin Gunay after a controversial hot-mic video leak. In a separate development, talent management mogul Ayse Barim has been released from prison in the Gezi Park trial. Turkey has also followed US sanctions on Iran, implementing asset freezes, and has condemned Israel's interception of the Gaza flotilla as a violation of international law.

The Gaza flotilla's determination to reach Gaza persists despite Israeli intervention. The US-Turkey-Israel triangle sees tension over TikTok's ownership and Iran sanctions, with Turkey taking diplomatic action against both nations.
