German Authorities Arrest Man With €1.4M at Munich Airport
German authorities have arrested a 44-year-old man of Iranian descent at Munich Airport. The suspect was attempting to board a flight to Istanbul with a substantial amount of cash, totalling approximately 1.4 million euros.
Customs officers discovered the money, packed in two suitcases, during routine X-ray screening of checked luggage. The suspect, who resides in the Munich area, was apprehended at the check-in desk. A subsequent search of his apartment uncovered small amounts of cash and a money counting machine. The investigating judge ordered the seizure of the cash and two mobile phones belonging to the suspect. The man is currently under arrest on suspicion of money laundering.
The name of the suspect remains undisclosed. Further investigations are underway to determine the source and destination of the seized funds.
