Rhenus Group Announces New Leadership Appointments

In a self-authored announcement, the Rhenus Group has revealed plans for strategic leadership changes within the organisation, aiming to build a future-ready company. The changes, effective from August 1, 2025, and October 1, 2025, will see the appointments of Joachim Hanssen as CEO for Asia Pacific (APAC) and Alberto Martinez as CEO for Europe (EU).

Joachim Hanssen, a seasoned Rhenus Group veteran with over 20 years of service, will oversee the Greater China, Central Asia, and Turkey regions in his new role as CEO for APAC. His extensive experience and expertise are expected to drive growth and success in the APAC region.

Meanwhile, Alberto Martinez, previously the Vice President of Global Ocean Freight, will succeed Markus Lingohr as CEO for Europe. Martinez will assume his new responsibilities on October 1, 2025.

In a related move, Renee Toh, who brings over 20 years of ocean freight experience, has been appointed to lead Global Ocean Freight. Toh will replace Alberto Martinez in this role, effective September 25, 2025.
