The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is preparing a comprehensive list of all flood control projects completed and ongoing in the Philippines since 2022. The list, which includes projects from both the current and past administrations, is set to be submitted to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. early next week.

As of mid-2025, the DPWH reported that about 9,800 flood control projects have been completed nationwide from July 2022 to May 2025 under the current administration. However, the detailed and specific list of these projects is still being compiled.

DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan has directed all District Engineering Offices and Regional Offices to identify all flood control projects that have been completed and are in progress. The list will also include flood control projects undertaken by past administrations.

The consolidation of data for the list is being done from the different District Engineering Offices and Regional Offices. The list is being prepared in response to an order by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who directed the DPWH to submit the list as a step toward eliminating corruption in the implementation of flood control projects.

The DPWH will also evaluate the projects that did not function as intended during recent floods and categorize them for potential rehabilitation or further action. The list will include flood control projects that are in various stages of completion.

The DPWH will determine if these identified projects are still functioning or require rehabilitation. The department will also check if these projects have withstood many typhoons and floods. No publicly available breakdown or comprehensive list of the individual flood control projects — either completed or ongoing — has been officially released as of the latest information in July 2025.

These statements were made by DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan during the 2025 Post-State of the Nation Address (SONA) discussions held in San Juan City on Wednesday. The DPWH will submit the list of completed and ongoing flood control projects to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. next week, providing a clear picture of the nation's ongoing efforts to combat floods and improve infrastructure.

  1. In light of the upcoming typhoon season, it would be crucial for stakeholders in Manila's finance and business sector to stay updated on the status of flood control projects, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to submit a comprehensive list of completed and ongoing projects early next week.
  2. Despite the DPWH working diligently to compile a list of flood control projects nationwide, including those from past administrations and in various stages of completion, a publicly available breakdown or comprehensive list has not been officially released as of July 2025.
