In the face of the ongoing Black Sea oil spill emergency, the regional government of Krasnodar Krai has allocated a 50 million ruble emergency relief fund to aid businesses in the spa, resort, hotel, and tourism sectors in Anapa [1][3]. However, local operators, particularly guesthouse owners, restaurants, and souvenir vendors, have expressed dissatisfaction with the current level of support, as they grapple with severe financial losses and mounting debts [1][3]. The beaches remain officially closed due to environmental and health safety regulations from Rospotrebnador, further restricting tourism activity and prolonging business challenges.
Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel recently held a meeting with representatives of the spa and resort industry in Anapa, where he emphasized that these measures are temporary and aimed at stabilizing the situation during the crisis [2]. He also announced the launch of a subsidy for spa and resort complex organisations, and revealed that various subsidies, including targeted programs for children's health and recreation facilities, are part of the support measures.
Other measures include automatic extension of licenses, special loans from the regional microfinancing fund at preferential rates of 2% to 3.25%, and a suspension of tourist tax collection [2]. Additionally, a package of support measures for businesses in affected areas has been developed, which includes deferment of tax and insurance payments.
Local authorities are also exploring longer-term recovery plans, including promoting alternative attractions and seeking additional aid, but no new support has yet been confirmed for non-hotel businesses [1][3].
Meanwhile, the new children's kindergarten "Peskovichok" is set to be the most modern in Anapa, adding a positive note to the ongoing crisis. The meeting was organised upon the instruction of the regional head, Veniamin Kondratyev, and business representatives presented their proposals for additional support measures, with Alexander Ruppel assuring that all initiatives would be carefully considered by the regional authorities.
