Allison Garcia has been appointed as the Group Vice President of Marketing at HGG. With a proven track record in the industry, Garcia is expected to bring fresh ideas and strategic vision to the marketing department.

In a significant move, Leticia G. Espinoza, who previously held the position of Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer at HGG, has been appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Espinoza's responsibilities include overseeing real estate, loss prevention, corporate affairs, communications, legal, risk management, and human resources.

Espinoza's journey with HGG began in 2019 when she joined the Cardenas Markets banner as general counsel and corporate secretary. Her dedication and leadership have been recognised by the company, leading to her promotion to chief legal officer in 2021.

Espinoza's accomplishments extend beyond HGG. She has been named a Top Woman in Grocery (TWIG) in the Senior-Level Executives category by Progressive Grocer in 2022 and 2025. In addition, she serves on the board of directors for several organisations, including the Cardenas Markets Foundation, the Heritage Grocers Group Foundation, Manos y Corazones Unidos Foundation, Olive Crest Roundtable, and the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance.

Kim Cates has also been promoted to Group Vice President of Merchandising at HGG. The company operates 57 stores under the Cardenas Markets banner, 29 stores under the El Rancho Supermercado banner, 21 stores under Tony's Fresh Market banner, and seven stores under the Los Altos Ranch Market banner. Cates' expertise is expected to drive growth and innovation across these brands.

Finally, Matthew Holt has been named the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of HGG, succeeding Darren Karst who has retired. Holt's financial acumen is expected to play a crucial role in HGG's future growth trajectory.

Suzy Monford, the new CEO of HGG, discussed the growth trajectory of the company's three brands in an interview with Progressive Grocer. Monford emphasised the company's commitment to being a modern, tech-forward grocer while maintaining its focus on serving the Hispanic community.

HGG is partnering with Instacart, Caper, and RELEX to define what it means to be a modern Hispanic and tech-forward grocer. These partnerships are expected to enhance the shopping experience for customers while driving innovation and efficiency within the company.

With these executive appointments, HGG is poised for growth and innovation, aiming to redefine the grocery shopping experience for its customers while maintaining its commitment to the Hispanic community.
