Falcon AM Appoints Connor Owens as CEO, Pursues Enhanced Management Focus at Blanchardstown Centre

Falcon AM, the asset management company responsible for Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin, has appointed Connor Owens as its new CEO, effective from August 2025. This move marks a significant shift towards localised management, with a dedicated Irish executive team being formed to oversee the day-to-day operations at Blanchardstown.

Falcon AM is owned by managed funds of Strategic Value Partners (SVP), a global alternative investment firm with approximately €19 billion in assets under management. Connor Owens, an industry veteran with deep knowledge in strategic leadership, complex real estate environments, and value creation, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Previously, Owens served as the head of asset management and recovery at the State-owned National Asset Management Agency (Nama) and as the managing director of asset management for Ireland at Hammerson.

With Owens at the helm, Falcon AM aims to strengthen the asset management and recovery capabilities of Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. This focus on improvement is expected to leverage Owens' extensive background in asset management, honed during his tenure at both Nama and Hammerson. The goal is to enhance the centre's performance and value, making it one of Ireland’s leading retail destinations.

Prior to Owens' appointment, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre was managed by Falcon AM, which also oversees other properties, including the Ilac centre in central Dublin. Notably, Hammerson, a co-owner of Dundrum Town Centre, the State's biggest shopping mall, has also benefited from Owens' expertise. Under his leadership, Hammerson successfully refinanced Dundrum Town Centre's debt with a €350 million loan from a group led by insurers Rothesay Life, BNP Paribas, and DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale.

The appointment of Connor Owens and the formation of a dedicated Irish executive team at Falcon AM signify a commitment to operational efficiency and strong tenant relations within Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. With Owens' proven track record in revitalising Hammerson's Irish operations, the future looks promising for the continued growth and development of Blanchardstown Centre.

  1. With his extensive background in finance and business, particularly in asset management, Connor Owens aims to boost the financial performance of Falcon AM's properties, such as Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.
  2. Falcon AM, a company operating within the industry of real estate management, anticipates that Owens' expertise will help enhance the business value of Blanchardstown Centre, transforming it into one of Ireland’s leading retail destinations.
