Hires a dozen employees from Eversheds Sutherland Ireland, according to William Fry
Ireland's law firm, William Fry, has made a significant move in the corporate world by hiring a 12-member Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team. The new team, which was originally from Eversheds Sutherland Ireland, includes four senior partners - Gerard Ryan, head of corporate mergers and acquisitions, Gavin O'Flaherty, Enda Newton, and Maria O'Brien.
The arrival of this experienced team strengthens the breadth and depth of William Fry's corporate/M&A news. Their deep experience and proven ability to navigate sophisticated transactions will significantly enhance William Fry's client offering, positioning the firm as the go-to law firm in Ireland for M&A transactions.
Andrew McIntyre, head of William Fry's corporate and M&A department, expressed his excitement about the new team joining the company, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome this talented team to William Fry. Their extensive experience and expertise will undoubtedly benefit our clients and further strengthen our position in the market."
The hiring comes after a failed merger between William Fry and Eversheds Sutherland Ireland, which collapsed in May. Following the collapse, Eversheds Sutherland (International) took back the Eversheds name, and a new law practice in Ireland was set up, absorbing its current Irish business.
Around 170 staff from Eversheds Sutherland Ireland are scheduled to join the new practice from September 15th. However, there are no publicly available details about the 12 members of the Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions team hired by William Fry after the failed merger, nor about their starting dates at the new workplace.
The new appointments at William Fry are a key part of the firm's vision to develop a team that can deliver strategic, commercial news across every stage of the corporate life cycle. With the addition of this experienced team, William Fry is well-positioned to continue providing top-tier legal services to its clients in Ireland and beyond.
