Holiday disruptions on Munich's main railroad due to ongoing infrastructure projects

Get ready for some modifications in your S-Bahn journey! Here's a heads up on the shifts happening from 6th to 13th June 2025 due to the commissioning of the new electronic signal box (ESTW) at Ostbahnhof.

📅 Shifts on the Night of 6th/7th June 📅

Replaceable bus services will be in action between:1. Pasing and Ostbahnhof,2. Ostbahnhof and Riem/Trudering/Johanneskirchen.

These changes apply from 10:30 PM to 5 AM. No S-Bahn trains will run between Pasing and Ostbahnhof/Giesing during this period. For those commuting to the airport, the S1 would be your best bet.

📅 Shifts from 7th June to 13th June 📅

The ESTW commissioning continues, and modifications will be made from Saturday, 7th June (5 AM) through to Friday, 13th June (4 AM).

During this period, bus services between Isartor and Ostbahnhof, and Ostbahnhof and Riem/Trudering/Johanneskirchen will be operational. From June 7 (5 AM), only S 3 will run between Isartor and Pasing, while S 2 will serve the main line between Isartor and Laim. S 7 will run as scheduled. Once again, for airport travel, choose the S1.

Find out that the Ostbahnhof station will not be served by any S-Bahn trains until June 13. However, you can use the MVgo app to navigate around detours and find alternative routes.

The commissioning of the new ESTW is aimed at enhancing the punctuality of Munich's S-Bahn. Stay tuned for more updates!
