Honda Expands Global Reach, APM Sets Rail Transport Record
Honda has expanded its export reach, now shipping models to various markets worldwide. APM Terminals Pipavav has set a new record for vehicle rail transport, supporting sustainability efforts. The Honda Elevate, a significant model for India, is now being exported to Japan as the WR-V.
Honda's global footprint has grown with exports to diverse markets. It now ships vehicles to left-hand-drive regions like Turkey, Mexico, and the Middle East, as well as right-hand-drive markets in Nepal, Bhutan, South Africa, and the SADC region.
APM Terminals Pipavav has achieved a remarkable feat in January. It unloaded a record 2,602 vehicles, using 26 newly modified goods rakes for finished vehicle transport. This accomplishment supports APM's decarbonisation goals and helps decongest road networks.
The Honda Elevate, a key model in India, is now being exported to Japan. After its launch in India on September 4, 2023, 10,273 units have been shipped to Japan in the first seven months. Honda Cars India has sold an impressive 30,000 units of the Elevate in India since its launch.
