Hürth's Lebensader Lux Project on Track for 2027 Completion
Hürth's Hermülheim district is seeing swift progress in the Lebensader Lux urban development project on Luxemburger Street. The first phase was completed in October 2024, with the connections of the Horbeller Street canal. The project includes flood protection measures and is expected to be fully reopened in early 2027.
The construction process was optimized in March 2025, with experts in archaeology and explosive ordnance disposal lending their expertise. The second phase, running from Horbeller Street to house number 315, is currently underway. By June 2025, all main supply lines will be laid, and the roadway will be renewed.
The third phase, covering the section from Horbeller Street to AOK Street, is scheduled for completion in September 2025. Ancillary facilities like sidewalks and garden sheds will be built by February 2026, with new power and water lines, and fiber optic cables being laid and house connections renewed. Property owners can apply for free connections to the district heating supply and a fiber optic connection during the paving work. In the second section, from house number 315 to the AOK Street, canal construction and roadway construction will be completed by July 2025. Luxemburger Street remains open to one lane of traffic between 6 PM and 9 AM during construction.
