Illicit waste disposal incidents recorded in excess of 50 occurrences in the region of Chita, as captured by surveillance photography.
In the city of Chita, the environmental oversight department of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Zabaykalsky Krai has taken action against over 50 instances of waste disposal at unauthorized dumps over June and July.
The waste disposal incidents, captured using installed camera traps, involved both cargo and passenger vehicles. The violators, identified as residents of Chita, will be held administratively responsible.
According to the current legislation, fines for illegal waste disposal in Chita are 50,000 rubles for each offense. Repeat offenses may lead to increased fines, with fines for the first offense of illegal waste disposal using vehicles ranging between 10,000 to 120,000 rubles. In severe cases, fines may result in vehicle confiscation.
Specialists from the department are currently processing the data to identify the owners of the vehicles involved in the waste disposal. The department reported these findings in its Telegram channel.
Artem Dneprovsky, head of the eco-oversight department, stated the camera recordings as evidence of the violations. The fines are intended to deter further violations and encourage proper waste disposal practices.
